This study focuses on targeted advertising, by first going through the theoretical background of targeted advertising, and then by reflecting the problems targeted advertising creates. The analysis focuses specifically on the social media environment and is done both from the perspective of the individual and the company. The study is conducted as a literature review. The purpose of this study is to open up both the researcher’s and the reader's knowledge on the subject by collecting a literature review from the already available pieces of information.
